Inspiration

First-time founders skip critical steps—not from laziness, but because no one told them what mattered. Generic AI tools can answer any question, but they can't tell you what question to ask at your stage, remember your context, or hold you accountable to the path forward.

What it does

Founder OS is a stage-aware operating system that replaces guesswork with structured direction: it captures your startup context, generates a personalized roadmap, and guides you through modular workflows where your thinking becomes investor-ready deliverables—all without losing continuity between sessions.

How we built it

We layered three interfaces: a 6-step structured intake that generates a persistent Context MD, a global dashboard with roadmap navigation and task management, and modular chat workspaces where founders plan, produce outputs, and track progress—all connected to a continuous source of truth about their startup.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing prescriptive guidance (telling founders what to do) with agency (letting them control their own path). Designing a context system that survives across multiple chat sessions without requiring constant re-prompting. Figuring out what "progress" means when deliverables vary wildly by stage and founder.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We shipped a working MVP in a hackathon with a cohesive three-layer architecture that actually feels like an operating system, not a chatbot. The Context MD pattern works—it solves the continuity problem elegantly. And we built a roadmap that can reorder itself based on startup stage, which is genuinely useful.

What we learned

Founders don't need more information—they need the right information in the right order with a system that knows where they are. The magic isn't in the AI; it's in the structure. And persistence (in every sense) is the real wedge against generic tools.

What's next for Founder OS

Post-MVP: accountability nudges tied to progress, team collaboration, investor readiness simulation, and integrations with tools founders already use (Notion, Linear). Longer term: real-time dashboard sync and a network feature that connects founders to relevant advisors and investors based on their stage and track progress.ilt it
