Inspiration

In 1994, my mother lost her brothers when life pulled them in different directions. Years later, the silence remains. That unanswered pain became our inspiration—to build FOUND, so no family has to wonder forever.

What it does

FOUND is an AI-driven missing persons platform that stores profiles and uses facial image recognition to match uploaded photos, generate similarity scores, and automatically notify users via email and it uses GoogleAPI GEMINI to check the location of the lost one.

How we built it

We implemented a secure database for profile storage, integrated Gemini AI for image comparison algorithms, and built an automated email notification pipeline for real-time alerts.

Challenges we ran into

Handling image variability (lighting, angles, quality), minimizing false positives, and ensuring data privacy and system reliability.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Developed a working end-to-end AI matching system with confidence scoring and automated notifications, designed for real-world humanitarian use.

What we learned

AI model integration, data handling, system scalability, and ethical considerations in sensitive identity-based applications.

What's next for FOUND

Improve model accuracy, enhance security, add multilingual support, and scale for deployment in disaster and conflict response scenarios .
