Inspiration
Having spent her whole life in Macau, Connie has always been captivated by the dramatic tales of high-stakes gambling and clever cheats that swirl through the city’s vibrant casino scene. She particularly enjoys sparking endless debates about the nature of chance and fairness in the world of gambling with her friends. One day, their casual conversations take a serious turn. They start questioning whether it’s truly possible to outsmart the casinos or if the games are as fair as they claim to be, or if they’re more like the fantastical plots of the movie God of Gamblers. Driven by curiosity, they have decided to create the most transparent and equitable casino game ever with the help of blockchain and bring an innovation to the gambling experience.
Our Team
The team consist of four talented enthusiast for fairness. With no prior knowledge of blockchain, the team learnt and built the application together, despite flexible role allocation of two contract developers, one front-end developer and a deployment and quality assurer.
How we built it
Before diving into development, the team took the time to research and go through multiple tutorials on blockchain. They then settled down on using Solidity, Web3 and Truffle as basis to build up their DApp. The DApp was then developed in synchronize of the ZombieFactory tutorial given in the resource pack.
Challenges we ran into and Accomplishments that we're proud of
Although blockchain was new to everyone in the group, we took on the challenge to learn the new concept. With the limited time we were given, we had to balance our university workload with learning and utilizing a whole new framework and language. We are especially proud of the effort we took into understanding the whole concept and integrating the secure nature of blockchain into an everyday doubt we had.
What's next for FortuneDealer
We definitely believe that there are much more improvements possible for the FortuneDealer, such as deploying it as an actual blockchain and making it the most addictive game ever. And are definitely eager to continue building on it after the hackathon ends!
