Inspiration

As more and more data breaches, spam attacks, and Wi-Fi vulnerabilities cropped up, we realized that the average user lacks simple, real-time tools to actively protect their online identity. From unguarded passwords to hacking into one's network, personal information is always in the balance. We envisioned an all-in-one solution that brings the power back to the user—without needing to know extensive technical jargon.

What it does

Fortress is a multi-agent security system with the aim of protecting users on multiple fronts. It:

  1. Tracks compromised passwords on the dark web and cross-references them with blockchain smart contracts to facilitate the safe filing of legal claims.

  2. Generates temporary, throw-away email addresses so that users can sign up for services without having to expose their real identities.

  3. Tracks users' networks for port anomalies, alerting them to high-risk activity such as potential unauthorized entry points or open ports.## How we built it

Challenges we ran into

Creating secure blockchain contracts while making them understandable to non-technical users.

Email APIs had rate limits and occasional downtime, so we had to implement fallback mechanisms.

Scanning networks without triggering firewall protections or violating device permissions on mobile platforms was tricky.

Ensuring smooth integration between different systems without compromising speed or user experience.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully combined three advanced cybersecurity tools into a single mobile platform.

Created smart contracts that can serve as legal records for leaked data, a step toward integrating legal recourse into digital security.

Built a functional and intuitive prototype that runs efficiently on both iOS and Android.

What we learned

How to integrate blockchain in real-world use cases outside of finance.

The complexity of scanning and interpreting network data securely across different operating systems.

User experience matters, a clean, trustworthy interface is just as important as strong backend functionality in security apps.

What's next for Fortress: Multi-Agent Security System

Add AI-powered threat prioritization, so users know which vulnerabilities matter most.

Allow users to automatically rotate credentials or emails after a breach is detected.

Partner with consumer rights organizations to formalize blockchain claim processes.

Launch a desktop browser extension for seamless integration with online activity.

Start a closed beta program to collect more real-world feedback before public release.
