Inspiration
While doing our research, Han Kang's relative shared with us a few issues she encountered while studying abroad, one of them being the current process for renewal of VISAs. VISAs are one of the most important documents for Singaporeans who are residing long term overseas. However, the current process is confusing and keeps users in the dark about the progress of their VISA application. Our group hope to streamline this process along with many other administrative task.
What it does
Our solution, ForSG, is a one-stop mobile application that:
- Keeps track of individual expiration date of important documents
- Sends timely reminder when an administrative task needs to be brought to their attention
- Updates users on the progress of VISA application/Passport Renewal
- Allows Singaporeans to clear their doubts with other fellow Singaporeans in the FAQ Forums
- Stores the important documents and records after submission for future use
How we built it
Our prototype was created on Figma.
Challenges we ran into
- Unable to find substantial information about challenges faced by overseas Singaporeans.
- Learning an entirely new software for prototype creation
- Encountering many foreign terms while completing our submission
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Being more competent with Figma
- Understood the purpose of journey mapping
What we learned
- UI design
- Doing proper User research
What's next for ForSG
Continuously improve on our prototype and come up with a working final product.
