Inspiration
As developers, we often find ourselves filling out numerous forms for hackathons and job applications. These forms can be time-consuming and repetitive, as they often ask for similar information such as our social media links and past experiences. We wanted to streamline this process and make it more efficient for developers, so we came up with the idea for Formi.
What it does
Formi is a web browser that simplifies the form-filling experience. It stores your social media links and frequently asked questions, so you can quickly access and input this information into forms. This saves you time and reduces the frustration of repeatedly typing out the same information.
How I'm going to built it
I have used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build the front-end of the web browser. For the back-end, I'm going to use Firebase as a database to store and retrieve user data.
Challenges I ran into
One of the biggest challenges I faced was ensuring that Formi was user-friendly and intuitive to use. I had to carefully design the user interface to make it easy for developers to access their stored information and input it into forms. Additionally, I had to ensure that the browser was secure and protected user data.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I'm proud of creating a web browser that makes the form-filling process more efficient and less repetitive for developers. Formi has already received positive feedback from some of my friends (beta testers), and I'm excited to see how it will be used in the future.
What I have learned during this process
During this project, I have learned the importance of user experience and design in creating a successful product. I have also gained valuable experience working with databases and back-end development.
What's next for Formii
As a new web developer, I have just started working on Formi and am eager to bring this project to completion. In the coming days, I plan to focus on adding new features to Formi such as auto-filling forms and integrating with other tools commonly used by developers. I am also dedicated to improving the user experience and making Formi even more user-friendly. I am excited to learn and grow as a developer through this project and see where it takes me.
