Inspiration

Our inspiration for this project was to learn more about auto and home insurance claims, and to make it easier for inexperienced people such as ourselves to easily be able to file a claim if they need to.

What it does

Formae has multiple purposes. It can assist people in finding the cheapest deal on insurance so that they can save the most amount of money in a convenient place. Formae also allows users who have gotten into an auto accident, to easily file an insurance claim by digitally filling out the required forms. Companies can create any form they want utilizing the included template, and then send it out to customers to get required information in an organized manner.

How we built it

We used React and TypeScript to build a unique website that is organized and functional, to give the user the best experience possible. For the back-end, Vamiq utilized TypeScript, Node.js, Express, and MongoDB.

Challenges we ran into

Auto insurance claims are something that our team did not know much about, as our team consists of younger individuals. This made it difficult to understand how insurance claims work, but we worked through it and spent a lot of time researching to better understand the process.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of the final product we came out with as we only had a team of 2 high school students working on it.

What we learned

We practiced and got better at creating more elegant front-end user interfaces; utilizing Chakra UI and SASS.

What's next for Formae

We want to increase the customer's interaction with the website, and allow people to give reviews to companies and rate them based on how well they worked with them. Also, we would like to have a chat area where customers can ask questions if they need assistance with anything.
