Inspiration

We cut the story short, our project is a web-based app (website) where users can sign in with one of the accounts configured in our Okta account which will be provided to the user by us (the company). Once the user attempts the sign in and the account is found in our Okta account, the user will be required to verify his/her identity using TYPINGDNA SERVICES then he/she will be navigated to the dashboard, we provided this feature in our system as an option to showcase our interest in using this feature in the future. However, the user can directly access the dashboard after passing the login process successfully and any other feature/page can be simply applied from there.

Examples: 1- We designed a button to take a user to the Okta User Dashboard page where the user can add apps and create sections.

2- Any page can be designed to replace the verify page once the user successfully signed in, and then the user will surf from there.

Our system does not have a database, it uses Okta accounts

What it does

With our project, we made it simple. user can sign in to our app using the account(s) we created in our Okta account, once the user successfully signed in, he/she will be navigated to verify him/herself using TYPINGDNA services which we integrated with our app, once the user is verified, he/she will be navigated to Dashboard. In this scenario, we put this feature for verifying the user using TYPINGDNA as an option where the user can access the dashboard right from the verify page by clicking on the GO To Dashboard.

How we built it

The interfaces were built using PHP, and JAVASCRIPT for setting up the Okta account and handling other stuff. There are not enough sources online to help us build the project but we tried our best until we managed to handle it in the end.

Challenges we ran into

This is our first time hearing about Okta and how it works also it is our first time building a project integrated with Okta. It was very hard not knowing where to start and how to configure the account.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our project can allow users to sign in and access the dashboard as far as users will be able to add applications and create sections.

What we learned

We learn how to create new accounts, set policies, assign users, and create apps on Okta. Not forgetting how useful okta is and how to integrate it with another project.

What's next for Forlonga

We are extremely interested in learning more about Okta and finding a way to do something bigger than what we have built now. It is so interesting from what we designed. It will be great for us to come out with something amazing as we are still planning for this as a team.
