Program is best opened on Windows
Inspiration
We decided to built this app because it addresses an issue that is personally close to many of us. We all have had grandparents that suffered from Alzheimer's disease or dementia and some of them unfortunately passed away due to these conditions. We decided to write this app because their conditions were not noticed and subsequently not addressed in time.
What it does
This program addresses the issues by allowing us to administer a test that notifies a caretaker when there is a significant decline in mental capability allowing more medical attention to be administered.
How we built it
We created the app using C++ and SFML, with the file browsing in C#.
Challenges we ran into
We had some issues with cross-platform compatibility due to using Windows and Mac. Github broke
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created an email system We created a graphing plot for test scores We created a Random Word Problem Generator We created a file save and load system for patient profiles We created a time telling test
What we learned
This is our first hackathon, so we learned many lessons. We became more familiar the spirit and atmosphere of hackathons, and we learned lessons such as to try to use the same platform to avoid cross-compatibility issues. We also learned how to use gitHub and SFML libraries.
What's next for Forget Me Not
We hope to add more evaluation questions to address issues such as patient mood, long-term and short-memory, personal relationships. We hope to add additional features such as reading comprehension and identification of everyday objects, as well as more detailed graphing and data analysis, and identifying family members.
