ForgeAI is a trigger-based AI agent system that removes bottlenecks in the SDLC by autonomously planning, building, reviewing, and securing software—just from a single GitLab issue.

About the Project

The AI-SDLC Agent was created to automate and improve the Software Development Life Cycle using AI-powered agents. The idea was inspired by common challenges developers face, such as manual reviews, inefficient workflows, and lack of intelligent automation in CI/CD pipelines.

We built the project using a modular agent architecture where AI agents analyze tasks, validate workflows, and assist development processes through an orchestrator and event-driven automation. GitLab CI/CD and AI APIs were integrated to create an automated and reliable development pipeline.

During development, we learned about AI orchestration, prompt engineering, and designing scalable automation systems. One of the main challenges was ensuring stable communication between agents and maintaining consistent workflow execution.

This project demonstrates how AI can move beyond code generation and actively participate in managing modern software development workflows.
