What I picked up while tinkering with Forge
- Cloud-native without the heavy lifting. A single
forge deployspins up everything—no servers, no AWS console rabbit hole. - Safety baked in. Filling out
manifest.ymlforces me to think about exact data scopes up front, so I’m not bolting security on later. - Events over webhooks. Triggers fire inside Jira/Confluence, so automations feel instant and never miss a beat.
- Built-in logs and tunnel. Live logs in the same CLI window mean faster debugging and fewer “what just happened?” moments.
What I can’t wait to build next
Cross-tool dashboards. One panel that blends Jira velocity, Confluence freshness -- finally a single truth source for the team.
Forge lets me focus on solving problems, not wrangling infra, and that’s the biggest win I’m carrying forward.
