Inspiration
We had a long road until we finally got an idea that all of us liked. We were thinking of something useful, connected to the nature, something psychologically interesting and something that would really solve an existing issue.
What it does
Our app is a complex system containing several modules. And, the only thing we didn't manage to do was connecting some of the parts together. Still, the app is pretty complete. We have developed both a web and an IOS app that allows you: scan a tree leaf you found on the street. The image is developed to our server, that processes it using our self written and trained neural network to recognise the tree specie. Then, a procedure generation algorithm is generating a pixel art with such type of the tree and the server sends you back the image. You add it into your collection of PokeTrees, after giving your unique tree a name. Afterwards, you can pick one tree from the collection at any moment so that it will be yours kind of a pet. You complete environmentally friendly tasks each T period of time and your tree grows.
How we built it
Rust + WebAssemly for a website, GitHub pages to host the web game. Google Cloud Platform to host the server. Complex script to gen trees.
