Inspiration
Corona crisis left us with empty shelves in the super markets. We the toilet paper ran out we saw an opportunity in the Slovenia's forests.
What it does
Our app determines the amount of toilet paper produced from the trees on your property. We detect forest area from satellite imagery and calculate the toilet paper statistics, based on forest type, poops per day, toilet paper thickness, etc.
How I built it
The app run on Node.js with Express backend and implements an REST API that uses sentinel hub satellite imagery. It classifies forest areas based on NDVI layer classification. The area is then processed and outputs the density and area of forest. The frontend uses Angular framework and nicely presents the map and statistics.
Challenges I ran into
We ran into challenges when trying to use Sentinels hub but were able to solve it with the help of mentors.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Putting all this spaghetti code together after everyone finished with their code.
What I learned
We learned that, we are capable of putting a project together in such a sort time.
