Our inspiration for creating this device was our concern for the environment and the people who have lost family homes,valuables and etc from the number of wildfires there have been,we believe that this is good preventive measure.
It detects the temperature and the humidity levels and according to the data received an led turns on and a message is displayed on a LCD
We connected the components(LCD, resistors, potentiometers ,LED)to a breadboard and then connected it to the Arduino.We also wrote code on the Arduino to display the temperature, humidity and message at different conditions
For a long time it was difficult to get the LCD to work.This is because we omitted the potentiometer which we thought was not important.This meant that we could control the contrast of the LCD and we couldn’t see what was being displayed.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:We were able to provide different lights to represent different things.It worked out exactly as planned
We learnt that no component is unimportant and that we should keep trying and testing out different things.
Next steps would be to add a GSM Module
so text message could be sent to user.
