Inspiration
I was looking for something that could be done by data science, that's why I chose this project
What it does
The project analyzes natural disasters using a database, applying linear regression to make predictions.
How we built it
I used Python for data analysis and to create the website. The data was sourced from an online database, and I also used ChatGPT to assist in the process. (Note: The accuracy of the data and the specific natural disasters included are uncertain.)
Challenges we ran into
One challenge was integrating the website with the database and graphs. I ultimately decided to display the graphs in a separate window rather than within the browser.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I liked the final result and how the website and application work together, enhancing usability and simplifying code modifications.
What we learned
While I didn’t learn anything particularly groundbreaking, the topics were relatively new to me, which made it a valuable experience.
What's next for Forecasting natural disasters in the long term
I plan to improve speed, classify data by category, and implement several other enhancements.
