Inspiration
Like many others I'm relatively new to Meta and only began building a couple of months ago as I am now sole carer for my mother who, unfortunately, has suffered several strokes and is in her 80s so please forgive the relatively late entry of this submission. To compliment this brief summary the main documentation will always be available here:

The Meta Quest 3s headset I bought has allowed me to "get out" virtually and make many new friends who I would like to thank for very generously taking the time to help me both get used to the VR experience but also to be able to build
My main inspiration was to learn how to use the headset editor to learn together and collaborate with a friend to build a world which only used "Standard Assets" and did not rely on knowledge of blender or AI generated assets which, at the same time, looked "realistic". The world had to be engaging and fun to explore
What it does
This world, we believe, provides a great place to explore, "chill" and generally "hang out" :)
How we built it
We built this world using a mixture of tri-mesh and "primitives", however, I think it is a shame that Meta seem to be phasing these out because, as a beginner, I find them useful to avoid the image processing complexities of creating our own tri-mesh textures
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge was fighting a few issues with the headset editor and pc editor. Some problems were to do with the "primitive" assets and not being able to undo accidental deletions. This is explored in the main documentation
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were both most proud of designing and publishing a functional world and the feedback that we received from various testers. Special thanks must go to 3 Eyed Tiger for doing a promotional video and Tom Jupiter for scripting help and providing a portal back to our world from his excellent "Fox & Hound" world
What we learned
Being a collaboration of a "techy" and more design oriented / artistic team members provided a good mix of mutually comiplimentary skills
What's next for Forbidden Gardens (SA Fork)
There are many, many additions in the pipeline most of which rely on a deeper understanding of scripting. We're running out of space but have thought of at least 3 workarounds for this
Finally I would like to say again that to compliment this brief summary the main documentation will always be available here:
