Football-Data

This project uses a API from Football-Data.org to get data on premier league matches. A user must sign up using Auth0 and the user can then vote who they think will win the matches.

Inspiration

The inspiration for this project was my love for football/soccer. I always wanted to do a project relating to using football data and I thought this was a great way to start on it.

What it does

This Project is just a very simple application that shows the matches and the scores for the premier league this season.

How we built it

I first used the AI assistant from the defang generate command to create me a table of all the matches in the premier league from the API on https://www.football-data.org/ in node and express. I then altered the code to be built using react for the front-end and express and node for the backend. I used postgres and my database and used neon to host the postgres database on the cloud. I used defang to host the application and the database with neon (followed the defang sample for a node-express-react project). I also used Auth0 to authenticate and authorize users for the application.

What's next for Football-Data

In the future I want to display information for multiple leagues and have more data on the players like stats and be able to maybe create a prediction/betting system for users.
