Inspiration
The fast and exciting foosball matches you can play with a foosball table and a few friends.
That experience combines toy-like mechanics, simple game loops, and dexterity that is difficult to master, making it incredibly fun.
I wanted to create a mobile game that captures the excitement of playing a fast-paced foosball match through touch gestures, haptics, and a hardware style interface.
What it does
A fast-paced foosball game with two modes: Table Game, a classic challenge with varying difficulty, and Arcade, featuring 10 roguelike scenarios.
How we built it
Built end to end in Replit and Revenue Cat handling the payments A lot of iterations with a clear and fun goal (pun intended)
Challenges we ran into
Getting to a consistent hardware style that matches how would it look a pocket foosball table
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- I love that if the ball gets stuck you can smack your iPhone, that's a behavior that sums very well the experience I was going for.
- Not being able to beat my own game yet and still having a lot of fun
- Support and feedback from early users
What we learned
- Designing a game, even one based in a known mechanic and simple in it's variations it's a huge challenge, have enough coffee.
