We were inspired by Doordash. It is a website that connects food donors (restaurants, grocery stores) that have surplus foods with recipients (food shelters and food banks) to redistribute surplus foods to reduce food waste. We built this using languages like React for the backend and Javascript for the frontend. We ran into many challenges while debugging. In fact, we were forced to fork our github repo because it was being corrupt with errors. We are proud that we have created an innovative solution to a very pressing issue while also testing our brains in a competitive environment. I have learned a lot through this competition as this is my first hackathon. One of the most important things I learned was managing wisely as we were always on a time crunch. Our plans for FoodShare is to later implement Google Maps and Stripe API to create a fully functional website that can be implemented anywhere!
