Inspiration
One year ago we develop a biosensor for rapid diagnostics of mycotoxin (www.sens.bio) in the food because we really want to give people confidence that they eat of produce safety food. Kate has more than 10 years’ experience in public relations, journalism and marketing at AGRI, Andrii - PhD at biosensors, Olexandr - a master of computing science.
What it does
With that platform, we can see information about contamination of food product (from what country it was, a subject of contamination, in what product) & about new challenges in food safety.
How we built it
We took information from different official resources (FAO, RASFF & our research date) to make it more useful for our visitors.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge was to make a dynamic world map to show the spread of foodborne diseases in the world.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
our startup BIOsens - device of rapid diagnostics of food safety & our team because they are really good at FoodSafety.
What we learned
http://leafletjs.com/ & esri.
What's next for FoodSafety
We want to work with others who believe there is a problem in food safety with the system and want to change it. Our project mission is to show a global problem of foodborne diseases (global map of mycotoxins in crops, bacterias and so on) and also to help food safety startups to promote their ideas on the platform, to find experts in this field and organize communication.
