The food service industry has seen many changes over the past year and a half. Supply chain issues and ordering habit changes make new challenges and opportunities.

What it does:

  • real time update on ingredients available (hence items on the menu that can be served)
  • reorder items on the menu displayed depending on prep time, availability, environmental impact to ensure seamless supply chain and minimize carbon footprint
  • real time tracking of how much food will be left at the end of the day
  • donate to charity of choice

App:

  • Digitized Pay it forward concept

How we built it:

  • Frontend : react native
  • Backend: MOngoDB + Google cloud serverless functions

Challenges:

remote team members, time zones, lack of time/sleep

Whats next: prototyping with an actual restaurant
