FooDi

A visually immersive app that increases discoverability for local food businesses, particularly Falafel Corner, within Davis by using collages of users’ food posts.

The local business we are focusing on is Falafel Corner. Falafel Corner is a small local business located on the corner of Old East Davis. Its location makes it less noticeable to UC Davis students in comparison to other businesses. We are trying to solve the problem by creating more discoverability for Falafel Corner, which is important to help support local businesses to keep them running. We’ve validated it by asking college students if they know about Falafel Corner and the survey we’ve conducted indicates that most people have not heard about it.

Our app FooDi would help UC Davis students to explore and try new local eateries and gems like Falafel Corner while also helping these businesses to get more engagement and business through developing a picture collage app for local Davis restaurants, so customers can see photos/videos of the restaurant.
