FoodGuard AI was inspired by real-world supply chain failures I witnessed across Pakistan—floods disrupting logistics, markets facing sudden shortages, and families losing access to essentials not due to lack of resources, but due to lack of foresight.

We built FoodGuard AI to proactively predict and prevent these disruptions.

🚀 What It Does

FoodGuard AI acts as a digital sentry for food supply chains, identifying risks early and enabling faster, smarter decisions.

⚙️ How It Works

• Engine: Gemini API processes unstructured supplier reports, regional updates, and environmental data
  
• Logic: The system evaluates multiple variables to compute a Risk Index:

Where:

• $S_r$ = supplier reliability
  
• $E_e$ = environmental stability
  

• $L_p$ = geographical logistics distance

• Output: Generates a clear High / Medium / Low risk level along with actionable recommendations (e.g., switch suppliers, reroute deliveries, or pre-stock inventory)

🧩 Key Challenge

Supply chain data in developing regions is fragmented and inconsistent. We engineered prompts and workflows to extract reliable insights from messy, real-world reports rather than clean datasets.

💡 Key Insight

Food security is as much an information problem as a resource problem. By leveraging LLMs for early risk detection and decision support, stakeholders can act sooner, reduce shortages, and build resilient supply chains.
