The global Halal standard food market is estimated to be worth of trillions of US Dollars. The Blockchain tech is proven to achieve integrity in any supply chain. By implementing a blockchain based supply chain system of the Halal food products, the consumers can ensure the compliance of Halal standard.

A blockchain network is created which spans the stages of Halal food production. Each of the products that goes through the production chain has a unique ID. An entry is made into the network at each stage to ensure if the Halal standard is met. At the final stage of the chain, the consumer can check the authenticity of the product at all the stages with the product ID.

We used the Hyperledger Fabric to build the block chain network with a REST uri. The front can access the chain with the REST uri.

We faced technical challenges in developing the system as the Hyperledger platform is new to us. We also had challenges in understanding the Halal food production chain.

We could build the blockchain network with a basic elements. We could come up with a solution which is easy to implement.

By working as a team we learned that we need discuss and layout the scope of our work before we stared developing the product. We also learned on how to approach a problem to implement a blockchain based solution. Also we have learned to use the Hyperledger platform.

We want to implement the concept that we have proposed. We want to develop the participant specific view functions and the UI screens for each of the participants. We would also want to implement a QR code based Identification for the product to access the product ID at all the stages and also a mobile app that a customer can use to scan and view the product details.
