Inspiration

Our inspiration came from our stay in hall, where we have to cook by ourselves, without our parents' guidance. We are constantly faced with the dilemma of not knowing what are the possible dishes we can cook, or how to cook it. Hence, we decided to build a website that solves just that.

What it does

Our website is able to generate a recipe, which includes an ingredient list, and instruction list. It is able to take in our inputs to customise the recipe as well, such as dietary requirements and cuisine preferences. Our website also contains sign in functions, which allows the user to have a profile and saved recipes list.

Challenges we ran into

It was our first time having to call AI through an API, which was a new experience for us. We had to learn on the spot within these 2 days how to work with AI in software development.

What we learned

We learnt a lot during this hackathon, such as how to work under time-pressure, and how to quickly adapt and learn new things.

What's next for FoodFinds

We will continue to work on our website to improve it, in hopes that we can release our website to the public and aid people in finding recipes more easily.
