Inspiration

Many times it happens that some of the food is leftover which could be donated to some needy. Also we have some occasions in our home or society where lot of good quality food is left, which could fill the stomach of some needy, but we do not find these people nearby us, or do not have time to donate. Hence we have tried to build a platform that could solve this.

What it does

By this platform we are connecting the donors (are the one who want to donate food) and the volunteers (are the NGO's that help the needy people in providing food).

How we built it

We built it using latest technologies HTML, CSS, JavaScript, NodeJS, express.js, EJS, Mongodb, bootstrap.

Challenges we ran into

The food's fresh time is an issue while building the project and we overcame this issue by applying time filter that will showcase only those food items which are in that time duration.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Hands on real world problem.

What we learned

By this project we learned to work on real world problem and along with it we learned the skills like teamwork, coordination.

What's next for FoodDole

Make it more secure and make it more user friendly interface.
