Inspiration

Truth be told, inspiration came from a reddit post that someone made about a spotify playlist that had the recipe to kimchi jjigae, a traditional Korean stew. [link]https://www.reddit.com/r/KoreanFood/comments/vrmtwn/this_spotify_playlist_is_also_a_kimchi_fried_rice/

What it does

Food2Play uses two APIs, spoonacular and Spotify. The user can input any dish they want into the textbox, and the spoonacular API will recommend dishes with known ingredients list online. Once a recipe is selected, the website communities to the spotify API endpoint, and creates a playlist listing out the ingredients on the Food2Play spotify account made specifically for this project.

How we built it

Built with react framework and javascript.

Challenges we ran into

Getting the spotify API to work. Using implicit grant flow for the access token proved to be a challenge because it's my first time, and I don't really have much experience using APIs.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Overall look of the website. It's pretty amateur, but for someone who's never really worked on the front end like this, I'm pretty proud.

What we learned

Learned a lot about APIs, a lot good, a lot bad.

What's next for Food2Play

Not too sure, implementing a loading wheel might be nice though.
