Inspiration

We wanted to improve mobility commerce

What it does

Uses your voice, based on natural language of what you want to eat, and searches restaurants using yelp api, then able to place an order and take you to the restaurant using maps.

How we built it

Python for the backend, using google tts for voice and pygame for speaking. Used an ai called spacy to extract food items out of sentences. Then front end we used React.

Challenges we ran into

Getting the Yelp Api properly connected. Getting the voice activation to recognize speech and extract nouns.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Being able to create a finished product that is demo worth and functional.

How to work together to create a project end to end.

What's next for Food Talk

Integrate other respects such as gas, grocery, etc.
