About the Project
This food rating project was inspired by the growing importance of customer reviews in the food industry. I wanted to create a platform where users can easily rate and discover different cuisines based on genuine feedback. This project allowed me to dive deeper into user experience design and improve my skills in full-stack development, particularly with JavaScript and database management.
Throughout the project, I learned how to optimize databases for large-scale user input, enhance UI/UX design for a smooth and intuitive experience, and ensure scalability for future updates. Building this project required integrating both front-end and back-end technologies, which provided an opportunity to sharpen my skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL.
One of the major challenges I faced was implementing an efficient rating algorithm that adapts to various types of cuisines and dishes while accounting for subjective biases. Balancing the performance of the app with a seamless user interface was another hurdle, but tackling these issues helped me grow as a developer and problem solver.
