Inspiration
Our team live into a modern city, we always live in a place which is hustle and bustle. Indeed, for place like U.S, fast food store is like a mascot for it. In the place, where we live, McDonalds, Taco bell, BurgerKings, etc... are too ordinary for us. However, we still feel astonished when a man with a tremendous tummy walk out from the store. His silhouette and clumsy way he walks brought us concern. Hence, we sought to create an entertaining and educational game for the society. Since people who usually get chubby stay in their house and surf the Internet. More important is that obesity will subsequently cause circulatory disease, like high blood pressure or a stroke.
What it does
- Our is more like an arcade game that you normally seen in coined game center
- Control the character to pick up and dodged food
- Boss fight if time is less than 10 second.
- Question and information in the back for educational purpose, (appears in the back)
Goal
- Remain health after the boss fight or time turns to zero.
How I built it
- Scratch >Coding of the game
- Piskel > For creating graphical image for opening and closing
Challenges I ran into
- In fact, we have short time to finish the project, we prioritize the main feature to be created first.
- The graphic design cost us a lot of time, creating image or graphic one pix by one pix, but this is the feature we definitely love to have
- Communication is tough, trouble occurs constantly, we still works together as a team to develop our prototype.
- Debugging, is one of the many new skill that we improved during this project.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
- We create a game that is function-able. (Debugging is a tragedy)
- Probably the first time we have effective conversation between our group
What I learned
- Logical thinking in coding
- Life experience of most of the facebook employers
- Collaboration, for instance, having effective conversation
- Time management or making a plan (To Do, In Process, Verify, Done)
What's next for Food Quest
- Adding more features to the game > The ending screen > Q&A portion for education
- Improve the graphical design and image
Built With
- scratch
