Inspiration

Every year, tons of edible food go to waste while millions of people go hungry. The lack of an efficient system to connect food donors with people or organizations in need results in both wastage and hunger. The challenge is to create a technology-based platform that enables real-time food sharing, reduces waste, and ensures food reaches those who need it most.

What it does

Our project directly contributes to SDG 1: No Poverty and Zero Hunger by empowering underprivileged communities with resources and opportunities for better living. By using technology (platform), we make it easier for individuals and NGOs to collaborate in providing aid, education, and employment.

How we built it

Our Location connects local food donors with nearby shelters to reduce waste and hunger. First, we make the list of Donors those who are connected nearby NGOs through location and delivered the food to the receivers. Donor → Food and contact details → Location  Push Notification  Receiver  Availability and contact details. IN PPT SLIDE 3 AND 4 SHOWS THE DIAGRAM--PLEASE YOU MUST SEE...IT IS EASY TO MORE UNDERSTAND.

Challenges we ran into

Reduced Hunger: Surplus food redirected to people in need → fewer go hungry. Reduced Food Waste: Restaurants, shops, and households share edible food instead of throwing it away. Poverty Alleviation: Low-income individuals gain access to meals, resources, and livelihood opportunities. Example: 2,000+ meals saved from waste 500+ families supported 30% reduction in local food wastage 100+ individuals gained training or job access

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our project bridges the gap between food surplus and food scarcity, helping communities overcome poverty and hunger through the power of technology.

What we learned

By connecting donors, NGOs, and people in need, we make food access easier, reduce waste, and promote self-reliance.
