Inspiration
The video that started it all. https://youtu.be/VPgh5Yk2HaY Accessibility is usability. Our team is focusing on an app to enhance the accessibility and inclusivity of our favorite pastime, eating out! We learned of all the added steps someone with a disability has when making a decision when eating out.
What it does
Food For All allows users to filter restaurants near them by accessbility features and view reviews from other disabled foodies.
How we built it
Beginning with a brainstorming session on Miro along with ideating and researching. Then our team moved into figma to create sketches, wireframes, the design guide and even our presentation. Maze was used for remote usability testing allowing the team to multitask on other areas of the project.
Challenges we ran into
The project was fueled by a lot of coffee and the design process. The biggest challenge: so many great ideas, so little time. This also challenged us to keep the scope of the project narrow but execute a few features with maximum efficiency.
What we learned
Through our first hackathon we learned to: Create and maintain a schedule Set a reasonable scope for the project Communicate constantly Be scrappy and innovative with our resources and time
