Inspiration
We were inspired by previous apps like food finder and we felt as though we had to make a simpler website related to specific bit cities.
What it does
It allows people to find easy, free food, talk to chatbots for advice, and view in spanish for the many spanish speakers near the DFW area
How we built it
We used supabase in order to input the data related to the actual free food places. Then, we used html, css, and javascript in order to make the website look clean and function well.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges were that we realized that it wouldn’t have much of in impact in one city like DFW. So we expanded it to cities like NYC and Houston in order to expand the website’s reach.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to make it accessible in spanish as well as provide a map for simpler interaction.
What we learned
We learned that hackathons can actually help the population.
What's next for Chew Easy
We can expand our reach worldwide in major cities in order to decrease food insecurity.
