Inspiration
When originally thinking about the routes that delivery drivers need to take, our team thought that we could use the already in place school bus routes that are used on a regular basis by students to deliver necessary food packages to them and their families.
What it does
Our project accepts the map coordinates of the child's home, the school bus facilities, and the school, and then uses these coordinates to optimize the distance of the bus routes.
How we built it
Using the Repl.it as a base to build our code in Java, we then used Google Sites to build our main website and then used JavaScript for the API portion. They would all be connected if more time was available to work on the project.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges we ran into was needing to find a way to connect Java with JavaScript between the different components
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are most proud of learning how to use the API and learning how to create an array of objects in the main program.
What we learned
We now have a more in-depth knowledge of the programs we used.
