Inspiration / Background
After the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a large increase in the demand for food delivery services. Using modern technology and robots we are able to develop contactless delivery.
Overview
Our robot delivers food from a business directly to the consumer. It is able to make multiple deliveries at once while keeping orders secure. Businesses are able to use an app to link specific orders to specific customers and consumers are able to unlock their compartments when the robot arrives. GPS tracking allows both the business and the consumer to see where the order is at any point on the route.
Key features
Insulating material is put between each of the 10 individual compartments keeping food hot or cold if necessary. Two different size compartments (12”x12” and 12”x24”) were created in order to accommodate larger orders. Electromechanical systems allow consumer to notify the robot when they’re ready to receive their food and this opens the compartment their food is in. GPS trackers integrated into the app keep consumers updated on where their food is at. The robot is easily charged using a wireless charging pad and can charge while businesses are creating orders or loading them. The robot’s suspension system keeps the food from moving too much during transportation.
