This app encourages craving control by logging your cravings into a public food journal and allows you to analyze where you were and how often you have cravings. Over time, we hope that users can modify what they want to eat. Users will see and hear the calorie count of their cravings instantly and should share their journal web site with others to create positive peer pressure to improve their food choices.
When you are hungry, run the App on the android smart phone, click the main button and say the generic name of the food you want to eat (like pizza). The app will look up the amount of calories in the food item based on the 2008 My Food Pyramid data from http://explore.data.gov/Health-and-Nutrition/MyPyramid-Food-Raw-Data/b978-7txq . If you enter your own unique profile id, the App will publish the location you are at when you make the verbal search request to a public web page at http://tinypoll.com/calories . You can send your friends your direct link and even download a history of your search topics, location at the time of search, and when the search was made into a .CSV file that can be read in Excel or imported to any other .csv compatible applications.
This app was just published to the Android Market and requires an Internet Connected Mobile phone or Tablet running Google Android 1.7 or later. It runs perfectly on an Acer Iconia Tab 500. Future versions may simulcast your food craving journal onto social networking sites.
