Inspiration
Our community food bank's generous actions and our experience volunteering with food drives inspired us to create a website where establishments, such as restaurants, can reach out to businesses that could use their food scraps.
What it does
Users with accounts can easily share what food items their organization requires and what extra food leftovers they can give to other businesses.
How we built it
We built Food For Everyone with React, Firebase, Node.js, Vite, Google Map API, and React-Router.
Challenges we ran into
We were rushed on time as we were busy during the summer.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Users can use a map provided by our website and, using the provided locations on our website, easily visit any business mentioned on the website.
What we learned
We learned how to use Google's API for creating a map on a website.
What's next for Food For Everyone
We plan to include a transaction system where people can easily see and fulfill food requests and a statistics page that will include the number of transactions completed.
