Inspiration

There is a growing demand for food relief since the pandemic. However, Foodbank Australia does not have a good digital tool to help both donors and recipients to make their experience better.

What it does

For recipients: 01 See real-time queues - Easily check the queues outside the foodbank, to avoid long waiting time. 02 Choose the best fit location - Select the time, type and suburb to shortlist the best Foodbank branch for you. 03 Add dietary requirements - Reduce food waste and make it more friendy to people with special requirements. 04 Easy to use interface - The interface is easy to use and friendly to people who are not digital natives.

For donors: 01 Easy donation process - The donor could easily access all types of individual donations. Make the donation in 3 steps. 02 Access to financial disclosure - Quick and convinient access to purchasing invoices from Foodbank Australia. 03 Transparent donation - The donor can check how each of their donations is converted to meals. 04 Donation Management - Access to your previous donations and manage your invoices.

How we built it

We use Figma to build our prototype.

Challenges we ran into

Time is limited. We do not have enough time to cover all the features we want to include in our apps. Both of us are not proficient in Figma that we run into a lot of technical challenges.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This is our first time using figma. It is very challenging but we manage to finish our preliminary design and presentation of our story.

What we learned

Figma skills are improved.

What's next for Food Bank Australia

We would like to invite more recipients and donors to test and give us feedback to improve the user experience of the app. More functions such as food storage planner to reduce food waste.
