What it does
Food Alert provides a platform for its users to give out or receive free food.
How we built it
For our front end app, we used Flutter so that we can have a single code base ported into both iphone and android phones. Flutter is programmed using Google’s Dart-lang. For the backend, we used Firebase’s cloud firestore to store new points with objects and Firebase’s storage to store photos.
Challenges we ran into
Our team had limited UI/UX design experience so we referred to existing user interfaces and made use of Google’s Material Design theme as it was built into Flutter as well.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are extremely proud of completing the core functionality of the app especially with the geolocation features.
What we learned
We learned app design, teamwork, planning, feasibility, and tackling potential issues beforehand.

- Transition from just food to anything else
- Implement AI for food/item verification -User logins -Notifications
