Inspiration

In a digital world brimming with opportunities, the dark side of harmful content—hate speech, misinformation, and cyberbullying—threatens the integrity of online communities. Inspired by the urgent need for safer digital spaces, Expert Forms was born to redefine content moderation using cutting-edge AI technology. We wanted to create a solution that not only reacts to harmful content but proactively prevents it from reaching users.

What it does

Expert Forms leverages on-device AI to identify and eliminate harmful content in real time. Unlike traditional moderation systems, which rely on manual review or user reporting, our platform integrates seamlessly into digital ecosystems to detect subtle indicators of harmful content and act swiftly. The result? A safer, more engaging online environment that empowers platforms to foster responsible communication.

How we built it

We utilized Gemini Nano, Chrome's built-in AI, to power Expert Forms' content moderation capabilities. By prompting Gemini Nano with user input, the system analyzes and determines whether the content is harmful or inappropriate. If deemed safe, the content is processed further; otherwise, it is flagged for moderation. This streamlined approach enables real-time decision-making while leveraging the advanced natural language processing capabilities of Gemini Nano.

Challenges we ran into

Latency - Getting responses on a low end device takes a while for a long corpus of text and this leads to poor user experience
