Inspiration
We were inspired by how the full moon connects people across time zones — from strawberry moonrises to golden reflections on distant seas. Wherever you are, the moon is watching too.
What it does
The film visualizes a journey across iconic landscapes around the world, each scene touched by a different magical moon. It’s both a travel log and a quiet love letter to the sky.
How we built it
Using Midjourney to generate diverse dreamlike scenery, Runway to animate transitions, and Suno to craft an airy piano-string score that floats like moonlight.
Challenges we ran into
Keeping the tone gentle and consistent while the scenery and moon phases changed dramatically — balancing wonder and quiet.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created a universal visual story — no words, just moonlight, emotion, and space to feel.
What we learned
Even AI-generated visuals can feel deeply personal when you focus on shared human experiences — like looking at the same moon.
What's next for Following the Moon
We plan to create a companion short, Listening to the Stars, pairing celestial music with stargazing across cultures.
