Inspiration
Roller skating has become very popular during the pandemic, mostly due to people sharing videos on Instagram. I even decided to start skating myself, but I'm just beginning and I can't do anything cool yet. I wanted to create an effect that could make even the most mundane movements look impressive. I believe it's an effect that can really elevate anyone's reel creation.
What it does
This effect generates a soft trail of pastel colors behind you as you move your body around.
How I built it
The effect is built in Spark AR and uses segmentation and the Shader Render Pass patch to created delayed copies of a person.
Challenges I ran into
My biggest challenge was learning to use segmentation and Shader Render Pass. I'm relatively new to Spark AR and have never used either of those before.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I'm proud to have published my first personal effect!
What I learned
I learned to group patches! I didn't realize that was possible before.

Now that I've published my first effect, I hope to start creating more effects that people find fun and useful!
