Inspiration
As millennials, we understand just how important maintaining relationships are, in our era of interconnectedness. So, we created FollowMe- an Android application that easily allows people to network with friends and professionals.
What it does
Follow Me streamlines the process for connecting with friends on social media. With just a few clicks, the app allows users to follow and friend each other on a variety of social media platforms, including Instagram, Spotify, and Twitter.
How we built it
The Android-Native app uses a total of 5 API's. One for each initial login of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Spotify, in addition to Google's Nearby Connections API, to identify devices close in proximity.
Challenges we ran into
- Limitations of API's (time delay in getting permissions, lack of functionality)
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Simple yet effective UI
What's next for Follow Me
- More expansive list of social media platforms including Pinterest, Slack, and Github
- Feature to select which social media apps to add, not just all
