FocusZen was inspired by the struggle many students face in staying consistent with study habits. We wanted a tool that’s simple, motivating, and effective—something that not only tracks time but also celebrates progress.

FocusZen helps users plan study sessions with custom topics, durations, and notes while tracking progress in a detailed history with streak counts. It sends timely alerts, generates concise summaries, and even creates visual mind maps for better learning retention.

We built FocusZen using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for a clean UI and integrated local storage for offline progress tracking. Each feature was designed to balance simplicity and utility, avoiding distractions.

Our biggest challenges included designing an intuitive interface, ensuring accurate time tracking, and making history & streak tracking work reliably across sessions.

We’re proud of creating a functional, user-friendly app that transforms studying into a rewarding habit.

From this project, we learned how crucial user experience is in productivity tools and how small motivation features—like streaks—can drive consistency.

Next, we aim to add cloud sync, AI-powered study recommendations, and a mobile version to make FocusZen more accessible and intelligent.
