FocusTV AI — A Smarter Way to Discover Entertainment

💡 Inspiration

I came up with the idea for FocusTV AI because finding something to watch can sometimes take longer than actually watching it. With entertainment spread across multiple streaming platforms, users often have to switch between services and browse through countless titles before finding something interesting.

I wanted to explore a better experience: a TV-focused interface that brings entertainment discovery, personal interests, and watchlist management together in one place.

My vision is to make discovering entertainment simpler, more convenient, and more personalised.

FocusTV AI is a browser-based prototype exploring a smarter entertainment discovery experience designed with TV navigation in mind.

Its current features include:

The long-term vision is to develop these ideas into a more complete entertainment companion for TV users.

🛠️ How I Built It

I built FocusTV AI as a web-based project using React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with Vite for the development environment.

I focused on creating a modern, dark interface with clear content cards, accessible controls, and navigation suitable for a television screen.

The watchlist and other local preferences use browser storage. The search interface currently uses local keyword matching rather than a live AI model or external recommendation service.

I developed the project incrementally, starting with the core interface and then working on navigation and the overall entertainment discovery experience.
