Inspiration
I built Focusify inspired by my own personal struggle with organizing my study time and staying focused as a student. I needed a reliable tool to keep track of my daily tasks and study sessions without getting overwhelmed.
What it does
Focusify is a productivity web application designed to help students and developers boost their workflow. It features a customizable Pomodoro timer for focused work intervals and breaks, a dynamic To-Do list to manage daily tasks, and custom flashcards to make studying and memorization interactive and efficient.
How I built it
I built Focusify using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I structured the user interface with clean HTML and styled it with custom CSS to ensure a smooth, modern experience. The interactive logic, timers, and dynamic elements were all implemented using vanilla JavaScript.
Challenges I ran into
When I started this project, I didn't know CSS or JavaScript at all. Learning how to style layouts properly and handle DOM manipulation and event listeners in JavaScript while building the app presented a big challenge, but I overcame it through continuous practice and debugging.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am most proud of successfully bringing my idea to life from scratch and building a fully functional productivity web app entirely on my own, especially since I had to learn most of the frontend technologies along the way.
What I learned
I learned over 80% of CSS and JavaScript through this project. I gained a deep understanding of how to structure web applications, manage state with JavaScript, and translate a personal problem-solving idea into real, working code.
What's next for focusify
In the future, I plan to add data persistence using local storage, user authentication, and deeper integrations with AI tools to provide smart study recommendations and schedule planning.
