Inspiration

Focusify was inspired by the whimsical charm of Studio Ghibli films and the desire to make daily productivity feel delightful rather than stressful. We wanted to create a space where staying focused could be fun, soothing, and visually inspiring.

What it does

Focusify is a vibrant productivity web app that combines a task tracker with a built-in Pomodoro timer. Users can add tasks, check them off, and store completed tasks in an archive, all while enjoying a colorful, Ghibli-inspired interface that makes staying productive a joy.

How we built it

We designed Focusify as a web app with a strong emphasis on UI aesthetics and user experience. The Pomodoro timer was integrated to encourage focused work sessions and regular breaks. All task data is stored locally on the user’s device to ensure privacy.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing an engaging, whimsical design with usability was a key challenge. Ensuring that the Pomodoro timer and task tracking features worked seamlessly without compromising the app’s light and magical aesthetic required multiple design iterations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully created a productivity tool that feels both functional and enchanting. Users can track tasks, manage focused sessions, and feel a genuine sense of accomplishment when completing tasks — all within a privacy-friendly environment.

What we learned

We learned how to blend aesthetic design with practical functionality and the importance of creating a user experience that encourages both productivity and enjoyment.

What's next for Focusify

We're planning to make Focusify personalized. Upcoming features include customizable themes and color palettes, gamified productivity rewards and smarter Pomodoro analytics to track focus patterns.
