Inspiration
We were inspired to build this project because of the increasing number of distractions in today's digital age. As students ourselves, we often find it hard to concentrate on a certain task with this amount of distractions.
What it does
Our application uses the computer's webcam to track when a user is distracted for a long period of time and generates a pop-up notification that notifies them that they are getting distracted.
How we built it
We built this application using the Python libraries dlib, opencv, math, tkinter, playsound, and datetime.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into challenges getting the pop up window to display and disappear at the correct times, getting the sound to work, and various bugs in our code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that our application can accurately detect a person's attention using computer vision technology. We are proud that our application was built with a appealing UI and is very easy to use.
