Inspiration

There are a lot of times where students have trouble with focusing so we wanted to make something that can help them stay focused and is not overwhelming for the user to get back into their work.

What it does

We have it so that they can track the times when they are inactive, if they are inactive the web app can I suggest them to get back to work. We have a camera feature for it to be better to see when someone might have to leave for something or is inactive. It is optional to be aware of privacy. We also wanted it to have Gemini analyze times that they are inactive and active to create a draft routine.

How we built it

We used various languages such as json, js, css, and html. We had assistance from Gemini and Claude to be able to create the popup extension and the UI/UX to match the theme "Dare to Dive".

Challenges we ran into

We had challenges with video recognition for it to be precise and fast. Another challenge was getting the Gemini to create an analysis we decided that we will do that more in the future.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to work together in separate times and be able to put it together in the way we envisioned the project to look.

What we learned

We learned how to navigate errors with AI and how to use it as a tool when developing a project. We got more familiar with github since we didn't know how to collaborate efficiently at first.

What's next for FocusFish

We will definitely try to incorporate Gemini Api to create an analysis of the screen time and help create a study schedule/routine for students. We are also going to update the camera feature so that it can track other factors.
