Inspiration

We were inspired by our own work ethic because we find it difficult to get the motivation to get started on assignments and so we made an app that we believed would help us in our own lives.

What it does

It helps motivate students to complete their assignments on time by having a virtual pet who's health goes up every time they complete an assignment.

How I built it

We used MIT App Inventor which we learned about in a workshop.

Challenges I ran into

We ran into problems uploading and testing it on Android devices which is the only type of device our code will compile on.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We are very proud of finishing an entire app before 1:00am and being able to actually sleep.

What I learned

We learned how to use and navigate through MIT App Inventor and how to run it on different devices.

What's next for Focus

We hope to add a feature where students are encouraged to study for a certain amount of time to increase the health of their pet. In the future we also hope to be able to run our app on Apple and Google devices.
